Hand-pulled Serigraphs
A fine art serigraph is a silk-screened image printed on fine quality paper usually signed and numbered by the artist. Every layer of color is printed separately. The more layers, the more difficult and time consuming a serigraph is to make. For the past few years, I have been working with master screen printer Padraig Conway, an amazing artist in his own right, originally from Galway, Ireland, Padraig has produced most of the serigraphs on these next pages. These beautiful pieces are printed on acid free, 50% linen - 50% cotton rag paper, and most are gold-leafed. Sometimes the fancy additions I add, give them an almost 3D quality that can't fully be appreciated on your computer screen. Because these serigraphs are hand made, each piece differs slightly. The color inks we use are UV, oil-based inks, which make these images really pop.
An "Artist Proof," is usually 10% of the run, hand picked by the artist and are of the highest quality, valued by collectors.
A "remarque," indicates the artist has added a small hand drawing or in my case I also gold-leaf them, a rarely practiced and difficult technique.
